چکیده
Since beginning of the severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2), different variants concern (VOC) have been discovered. One that stood out was Delta variant (B.1.617.2), first found in India. It caught worldwide attention due to its greater transmissibility than progenitor strain and (VOC)- Alpha (B.1.1.7). B.1.617.2 spread rapidly across globe became a VOC high transmissibility, clinical implications, impact on vaccine efficacy. This review discusses background prevalence sensitivity convalescent sera vaccinated individuals. We will provide an insight into has efficacy discuss level type protection individual could get by being vaccinated. also briefly COVID-19 booster doses whether it is needed.

COVID-19 Outbreak in Africa: Lessons and Insights from the West African Ebola Virus Disease Epidemics
Over the years, the African continent has had to battle several outbreaks of infectious diseases in different countries. Some of the most deadly were the Ebola virus disease (EVD) outbreaks that occurred in West Africa between 2014 and 2016 affecting Guinea, Liberia, and Sierra Leone and, more recently, from 2018 to 2020 in the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC). In the era of the COVID-19 pand...
متن کاملStructural Insights into Clostridium perfringens Delta Toxin Pore Formation
Clostridium perfringens Delta toxin is one of the three hemolysin-like proteins produced by C. perfringens type C and possibly type B strains. One of the others, NetB, has been shown to be the major cause of Avian Nectrotic Enteritis, which following the reduction in use of antibiotics as growth promoters, has become an emerging disease of industrial poultry. Delta toxin itself is cytotoxic to ...

Covid-19 Serological Tests: A Journey from Denial of Reality to Conclusive Insights
In response to the outbreak of COVID-19, caused by the SARS-CoV-2 virus, several tests are needed for diagnosis of acute illness, contact tracking, diagnosis of asymptomatic infections, and assessment of herd immunity. While PCR is the standard test in acute type, serological tests have been developed and used to meet diagnostic needs due to the widespread prevalence of the disease. Unlike the...
متن کاملStructural Insights into Human Peroxisome Proliferator Activated Receptor Delta (PPAR-Delta) Selective Ligand Binding
Peroxisome proliferator activated receptors (PPARs δ, α and γ) are closely related transcription factors that exert distinct effects on fatty acid and glucose metabolism, cardiac disease, inflammatory response and other processes. Several groups developed PPAR subtype specific modulators to trigger desirable effects of particular PPARs without harmful side effects associated with activation of ...
